We tend to feel confident when the people in our lives respect us and celebrate our accomplishments. We feel good when we do big things. But when we are struggling and no one seems to notice us, we might start to question our value.
As humans, we want to impress others and to be accepted by them. It’s hard when we feel like no one sees us. In those times, it’s important to remember that God sees us and He loves us.
God created you just the way you are. The parts of yourself that you like, the parts of yourself that you don’t like—He made every part of you. He created you in His image, and Jesus said, “You are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows†(Matthew 10:31). God showed how precious you are to Him when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so that you could be accepted into God’s family. You have value because God made you and He claims you as His own.
God sees you every day, whether you are accomplishing big things or just getting through each hour. You don’t have to do anything special to capture the attention of the One who made you. If you’ve put your trust in Jesus, you can know that you are God’s precious child, a child He celebrates. • Emily Acker
